Taylor Mac’s “A 24 Decade history of Popular Music” gets a 5 star review from Time Out

September 18, 2016

I am currently playing piano in and music directing Taylor Mac’s monumental opus “A 24-Decade history of Popular Music” at St. Ann’s Warehouse. Time Out NY reviewed Act 1, and gave us 5 stars.

The show opened on Thursday to a packed house with a 24-piece orchestra playing arrangements I wrote over the past years in preparation for this run of shows all leading up to our 24 hour concert on October 8 and 9.

David Cote called the show “pure anarchic and, yes, exhausting bliss.” Some nice praise for my “wizardly” arrangements as well. Nice review! Show running through Oct 8!
